On 7 July 1992, Swiss Envoy Willy P. Blazer, Vice Counselor and Head of Chancery of Switzerland in India brought Khajjiar on the world tourism map by calling it "Mini Switzerland". He also put a sign of a yellow Swiss hiking footpath showing Khajjiar's distance from the Swiss capital Berne: "6,194 km" or 3,849 mi. Khajjiar is among the 160 locations in the world that bear topographical resemblance with Switzerland.   • Day 1 - Arrival at Dalhousie

     

    Dalhousie Khajjiar tour package starts from Pathankot. Upon your arrival at Pathankot railway station you will meet our representative and will be transferred to Dalhousie.

    As you reach, check-in at the hotel and have some rest, later head out to explore this beautiful hill station.

    Later visit the Dainkund peak and spend some quality time at Chamera lake.

  • Day 2 - Excursion To Khajjiar

     

    On the second day of your Dalhousie Khajjiar tour plan, enjoy your breakfast and drive to Khajjiar for an excursion.

    After reaching Khajjiar, spend the day exploring the popular spots of this place, start by visiting the Khajjiar lake, situated amidst the forests of cedar trees.

    You can enjoy various adventure sports here like Paragliding, horse-riding, and zorbing.

    A visit to the Kalatop Wildlife sanctuary will leave you spellbound. You will witness a far stretched landscape of deodar forests with fresh water streams and wild animals like black bear, Himalayan black marten, barking goral, leopard, wild cats, deer and in their natural habitat.

    After the visit, travel back to dalhousie.

  • Day 3 - Departure

Dauladhar mountains

Dense deodars, pines and lush green meadows are characteristic of Khajjiar. Since Khajjiar is situated at the base of the Dauladhar mountains, the tourists here can get panoramic views of the mountains.

Kalatop Khajjiar Sanctuary

The Kalatop Khajjiar Sanctuary is a wildlife sanctuary which has a wide variety of flora and fauna. It is densely covered with deodar and fir forest. The place is a favorite spot for picnics and trekking.

Khajjiar Lake

Khajjiar Lake is a small lake, surrounded by saucer-shaped lush green meadow and a floating island. The dense growth of weed called vacha has made its earth spongy. Now the banks stand covered by a thick layer of earth, formed by the years of dust settling down on the weeds.

Khajji Nag temple

A little away from the lake is the temple of Khajji Nag belonging to the 12th century CE made by the king of Chamba, Prithvi Singh. The temple has a golden dome due to which it is also known as Golden Devi Temple. In the mandapa of the temple one can see the images of the Pandavas and the defeated Kauravas hanging from the roof of the circumambulatory path. The sanctum of the temple has been carved from wood.[1] This temple is dedicated to snake (Nāga) worship and there are some snake idols inside. The temple also has idols of Shiva and Goddess Hadimba.

Trekking

Khajjiar offers numerous trekking opportunities. Khajjiar to Dainkund is a 3.5-kilometre (2.2 mi) easy to moderate trek. The trek starts 6 kilometres (3.7 mi) from Khajjiar on the Dalhousie-Khajjiar road and ends at Pholani Devi Temple at Dainkund. This trek with a well-defined trail and moderate ascent is an excellent trek for beginners and children. The trek offers excellent views and a beautiful camping site.

Cancellation Policy:

  • If cancellations are made 15 days before the start date of the trip, 25% of total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees.

  • If cancellations are made 07-14 days before the start date of the trip, 50% of total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees.

  • If cancellations are made within 0-6 days before the start date of the trip, 100% of total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees.

  • In case of unforeseen weather conditions or government restrictions, certain trips or activities may get cancelled. In such cases operator will try their best to provide an alternate feasible. However a cash refund will not be applicable for the same.

  • Cancellations are strictly subjected to cancellation policies mentioned on the website & are irrespective of the date of booking.

 Refund Policy:

  • The applicable refund amount will be processed within 10 working days

  • All applicable refunds will be done as per traveller's mode of payment .

Booking Confirmation Policy:

  • The customer receives a confirmation voucher via email within 24 hours of successful booking payment made in favour of Vedas Tours.
